Book signing with author Terry Motycka

by Terry Motycka

Portage, MI — A book signing with Terry Motycka, author of The Life and Legacy of Peter The Great, will take place this Saturday, January 26, from 10:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Detroit Sheraton Novi Hotel, 21111 Haggerty Road, Novi, Michigan.

Peter The Great (whose offspring include Greyhound, Adios, Bye Bye Byrd, Victory Song, Star’s Pride, Speedy Crown, and (closer to the present) Bonefish, Moni Maker, Tom Ridge, Victory Tilly, Glidemaster, Giant Diablo, Donato Hanover, and 2-year old champion Somebeachsomewhere) has been described by the editor of Harness Racing International as “one of the top five trotting sires of all time.”

A recent article about Peter The Great was featured in the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s August 2007 issue, the July/August issue of Harness Racing International (Victoria, Australia) and was the cover story for the Summer 2007 issue of the Historical Society of Michigan’s Chronicle magazine.

Complete with vintage photographs and many fascinating facts that have never before been gathered together in one place, this book provides the first full account of the life of this famous sire.

Response to the book has been very good. Currently in its fourth printing, requests by those both inside and outside the racing industry have sent copies winging their way across North America, and to places as far away as Europe and Australia.

The book, written in an easy style that is both entertaining and distinctly different from the usual historical approach, is available for purchase through eBay, Amazon, and the author’s Web site. It is also available in a special audio form, for checkout from the Library of Michigan’s Department for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
