Irish Elitist was one of eight winners on the Thursday card for George Brennan.
The Raceway’s leading driver began his night with a third-place finish in the opener. After having the second race off, he and favored Shaky Hanover ($4.80) made short work of the eight hole in the $12,000 third race pace. The pair negotiated the mile and one-sixteenth in 2:02.4.
The $17,000 fourth race trot found Brennan going the distance with Eggipus Complex ($7.60) in an added-distance 2:05. He then ripped out of the pocket in the $14,000 fifth race pace, widening out with 1-2 choice La Diavla ($3.10) in an added-distance 2:02.
Brennan sat out the sixth event before consecutively doubling up. First it was the $17,000 seventh race pace with Carnivalocity ($14.40) in an added-distance 2:02.1. Next it was up and over with Fountainbleau Volo ($4) in the $22,000 eighth race trot (added-distance 2:03.2).
Brennan ended up fourth in the ninth race before running up the score with odds-on Irish Elitist ($3.50) in the $20,000 10th race pace. The pair needed a flat 2:00 for the added assignment. Next up was the $23,000 eighth race pace, won by — guess who? — and a lasting-on-the-lead Justin Art ($3.20) in an added-distance 2:01.1.
Tiring from first-up in the 12th race, Brennan then closed it out with So Feminine ($6.50) in the $22,000 pacing finale, two-moving to victory in 2:01.3 for the distance du jour.
