from Brittany Stallion Management
Versailles, KY — Stud fees for 2012 have now been set for the Brittany Stallion Management stallions.
Art Zubrod, Brittany’s manager, said that a stallion’s commercial appeal, production, and overall market conditions were taken into consideration by each stallion’s syndicate when determining the fees.
“In addition to the incentive offered by standing these stallions where there are lucrative sire stakes programs, our goal has always been to give breeders an opportunity for a solid return, whether they’re breeding to race or breeding to sell,” Zubrod said.
American Ideal, harness racing’s leading second-crop pacing sire, has been raised to $7,500 for the upcoming breeding season, while the fees for other stallions have remained the same or have been lowered.
American Ideal, whose first crop was led by millionaire and 2011 Jugette winner Idyllic, has a second crop that includes world champion 2-year-old filly American Jewel p,2,1:50.2s ($677,116) and the highly-regarded colt Heston Blue Chip p,2,1:50.4f ($375,650).
Stud fees and locations for the stallions are as follows:
