Brookview Bullet impresses in Indiana Sires Stakes

Anderson, IN — Brookview Bullet turned in an impressive effort to capture the featured event of the evening, the $79,500 Indiana Sires Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings, at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Thursday (Sept. 17). Brett Miller drove the Tyler George trainee, who stopped the clock in a new lifetime best of 1:51.

Starting from post four in the field of 11, Brookview Bullet left enough to grab a spot along the pylons in third through a snappy :25.4 opening quarter. JK Going West (James Yonder) was on the front early, but was joined by Skyway Victor (Brandon Bates) at the half in :55. At that point, Miller gave Brookview Bullet the green light, and the colt ranged up to the take the lead at three-quarters in 1:23.4.

As the field turned for home, What’s Your Beef (Trace Tetrick) applied first-over pressure and the pocket-sitting JK Going West loomed large, but Brookview Bullet wasn’t finished. He used a :27.1 final quarter to hold off all challengers and defeat JK Going West by 3-3/4 lengths. What’s Your Beef rounded out the trifecta.

Brookville Bullet, a gelded son of Always A Virgin and Babylon Sister, recorded his fourth win from five seasonal starts and pushed his lifetime bankroll to $85,588 for the Eleven Star Stable. He returned $3.40 to win.

Indiana Sires Stakes action will continue at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Friday (Sept. 18). The evening’s 14-race card will also feature a $10,000 guaranteed Pick-5 in races 10-14 and a $10,000 Guaranteed Hoosier High-5 pool in the last race of the program. Post time is 6:30 p.m.
