Buckeye Stallion Series continues Friday at Scioto

Grove City, OH — Three-year-old pacing colts and geldings will take to Eldorado Scioto Downs on Friday (June 10) for the second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series (BSS). Six $17,500 divisions, featuring a total of 56 pacers, will highlight the 17-race program.

Four of the seven divisional winners from the first leg of the BSS will return, hoping to make it two wins in as many legs. Bettor By Seaside, Dirty Harry Too, Fluff Yeahh, and Self Made won in the opening leg at Miami Valley Raceway on May 1.

In the first division, Shell Yeah will look for his fifth win in seven starts. The son of Downbytheseaside is trained by Brain Boring. Justin Irvine will drive the early 3-1 favorite.

The second division looks to be a wide-open affair as six of the 10 pacers are looking for their first win of the year. Steve Carter trainee Tre Cruz will drop down from the Ohio Sires Stakes ranks, and Brett Miller will drive the son of Yankee Cruiser.

Self Made and Aaron Merriman will try to win in the BSS for the second time this year. The Ron Potter-trained son of Fear The Dragon will do battle with Odds On Capitalism, who is the favorite at 2-1, and second choice Dragononthebeach. Odds On Capitalism is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and will be driven by Brett Miller, while Tyler Smith will drive Dragononthebeach for trainer Kelly O’Donnell.

Trainer Todd Luther will send out Eminem Hanover, who is in search of his fifth win of the campaign, in the fourth division. The Downbytheseaside colt makes his first start in Buckeye Stallion Series. Trevor Smith will drive the 9-5 favorite.

In the fifth division, long shot Dirty Harry Too will look for the magic again. In the first leg, Dirty Harry Too, by Nob Hill High, with Tony Hall driving was a 26-1 long shot and bested the field for trainer Mark Winters Jr. This time, Dirty Harry Too is tied for the longest shot on the board at 15-1. The favorite is Robin’s Art. Trained by Kent Saunders, the son of Art Official will have Tyler Smith in the sulky.

In the final division, two first-leg winners will meet. Bettor By Seaside will be driven by Tyler Smith for trainer Dean Glispie, while Bret Schwartz trainee Fluff Yeah will have Trevor Smith driving. Morning line favorite Party Hill Boy, trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and driven by Mitchell Cushing, will be looking for his fifth win of the year.

The six BSS divisions are scheduled for races three, nine, 11, 13, 15 and 16. First race post time at Eldorado Scioto Downs is 3:15 p.m.
