Saratoga Springs, NY — Cashahallic (Cash Hall) handled the step back up in class with ease on Tuesday (July 26) at Saratoga Casino Hotel as the Richie Silverman trainee scored first over in the evening’s feature.
After a stint in the local Open, Cashahallic dropped down in company recently and recorded a pair of seconds and a third in his three starts heading into Tuesday night’s try in the $8,800 featured trotting race.
Billy Dobson piloted the 8-year-old trotting veteran and moved first over as Traverse Seelster (Wally Hennessey) followed his live cover. Cashahallic cleared the lead heading towards the three-quarter pole and held on to win in a speedy 1:55.2 while Traverse Seelster had to settle for second. Longshot The Franchise (Jim Devaux) came on to earn the show spot.
Cashahallic returned $15.20 in the mild upset and led an exacta and triple that came back $39 and $521, respectively.
Live racing continues on Wednesday night at Saratoga with first post time set for 7:05 p.m.
