Charles Crouser Jr., 78, dies

Columbus, OH — Charles L. Crouser Jr., 78, died peacefully on Nov. 12, 2022, at his home in Stoneboro, Pa.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1944, to the late Charles Sr. and Martha Crouser. A graduate of Lakeview High School, he later completed a specialized program in Nebraska for Equine Studies. Additionally, he married his loving wife, Sandy, on Dec. 28, 1968; she survives at home. He was also a former member of New Lebanon Community Church.

Mr. Crouser served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. After his time of military service, he spent his career as a horse trainer, caring for horses through dentistry and acupuncture.

He had an affinity for fishing, hunting, and playing the banjo. He especially enjoyed racing horses at the Meadows Racetrack & Casino and the Great Stoneboro Fair.

Mr. Crouser is survived by his wife, Sandy; sister, Connie Mitchell; sons, Kevin and Chad (Nicole); daughter, Amy; grandchildren, Kayla (Matthew Buczkowski), Paedyn, Avalean, Wyatt, Miles, Alex, Morgan Settlemire, and Kyle Scott (Cassie Schuhlen); and great-grandchildren, Parker Buczkowski and Raelynn Buczkowski. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dixie Kepner.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends will be received from 4–7 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 18) and from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 19).
