Charles “Jack” LeDiard, 80, dies

Columbus, OH — Charles “Jack” LeDiard, 80, joined his beloved wife Vicki in heaven on April 19, 2022.

Mr. LeDiard was born and raised on the Hilltop of Columbus, attended St. Aloysius Church and graduated from Aquinas High School.

He worked proudly as a union sheet metal worker for 30 years at Local 98.

He was a member of the United States Trotting Association, which was his true passion of driving and training Standardbred racehorses with his wife for 38 years. He loved harness racing and traveling to the county fairs and raceways.

He was a strong willed, independent man who lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life. He liked college football, a good western, reading Louis L’Amour novels, a hot cup of coffee with a doughnut, a good home cooked meal, listening to Rock & Roll music, working on his truck and tractor and being outdoors.

He was very proud of his granddaughters, Macy and Amy, and enjoyed watching them grow up with all of their accomplishments.

Mr. LeDiard is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Ann Burchett; granddaughters, Macy Victoria and Amy Ann; and sisters, Suzanne Burkhart and Mary Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vicki Lynn; and son, Charles Randall.

His wisdom, advice and company will be dearly missed.
