Freehold, NJ — It was back to work on Monday for Hambletonian winner Broad Bahn, as his connections look toward the second half of the season for him.
“He came out of it good, jogging on Monday and swam on Tuesday and then jogged him a little again today,” said trainer Noel Daley. “He came out of it really well.
“He’ll have the Colonial at Chester (August 21) and after that we’ll see,” said Daley. “He’ll end up in Canada for the Canadian Trotting Classic (elims on September 10, final September 17). I’m not sure if I’m going to the Zweig (August 28 at Tioga) or not.
“He’ll either go Colonial, Zweig and then miss a week and go to the Canadian Trotting Classic or he will miss the Zweig and maybe the Simcoe up there (at Mohawk on September 3). More than likely, if he comes out of it alright, he’ll do the Colonial and then the Zweig and miss a week and then to the Canadian Trotting Classic.
“We had a dream race (in the Hambletonian), everything went right,” Daley said. “That’s what you need to win it. We don’t think we have the next Muscle Hill (2009 Hambletonian winner) but he does everything right and he’s a nice horse.”
