CR Dream Catcher (Brian Sears) split horses down the lane to capture the $110,700 Su Mac Lad Final.

The 6-year-old gelded son of Royal Troubador trotted the mile in 1:53.4, finishing 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Beach Nut Brand ($4.80, $3.60). Dink Adoo ($4.60) finished 1-1/2 lengths back in third.

“(The trip) worked out pretty good,” driver Brian Sears said from the winner’s circle. “I have been sitting with him and shaking free late. He does not have a whole lot of punch to cross to the top yet but things worked out today. They were mixing it up on the front. I followed the horse to beat (Beach Nut Brand). I didn’t have to go three deep. I split horses down the lane and had enough trot left to go by.”

CR Dream Catcher notched his second win in his 12th start of the season and increased his lifetime bankroll to $306,132 for owner/trainer Tom Lail of Swedesboro, N.J.

Mr Muscleman was a 1:53.3 winner in the Father Foley Memorial Series.

Trained by Noel Daley and driven by Ron Pierce, Mr Muscleman took control of the lead around the backside and held off San Remo Kosmos ($3.60, $3.20) at the wire to win by a half length in 1:53.3. It was two lengths back to Man About Town ($3.60) in third.

Mr Muscleman, the richest Standardbred racehorse in training with a career bankroll of $3.38 million, had his 2005 season cut short after a suspensory injury and was sidelined after a brief campaign last year due to concerns with his knee.

Owners Adam Victor & Son Stable are hoping for the opportunity to take the 7-year-old gelded son of Muscles Yankee overseas next month to compete in Sweden’s famed Elitlopp at Solvalla Racecourse.

The Father Foley Memorial Series continues next Sunday, April 29.
