Crossfit masters opposition in Pocono headliner

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Crossfit proved an easy winner in the Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 20) feature at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, a $20,000-$25,000 claiming handicap trot.

Tyler Buter brushed Crossfit to the lead in front of the stands, rated a :58 first half mile, and then got a :56.4 final half out of him to win in 1:54.4, 1-3/4 lengths ahead of pocket rival Mr Houdini. Trainer Susan Marshall co-owns the 4-year-old Donato Hanover gelding with John Marshall.

Trainer-driver Åke Svanstedt and Swiss House Onfire made short work of their competition in a $10,400 contest, stepping home in a :56.3 last half to win in a new lifetime mark of 1:54.1. The S R F stable owns the sophomore Muscle Hill gelding.

After not racing at 2 or 3, the 4-year-old Trixton entire Celebrity Rolex won for the fourth time in six career starts, posting a 1:56.2 victory for driver Fern Paquet Jr., trainer Jennifer Sansone and Celebrity Farms.

George Napolitano Jr., Pocono’s perennial leading driver, won five races on the Tuesday card.
