Cruzado Dela Noche won Friday (Oct. 28) at Ôrebro in Sweden in anew Swedish record (1:54.2 mile rate) for 4-year old trotters over 1-5/16 mile. The old record was held by none other than Nuncio and was 1.54.4 (milerate).
Cruzado Dela Noche (sired by Muscle Massive) is a stablemateof Nuncio with Stefan Melander and has improved quite a lot this year.
Earlier this month Cruzado Dela Noche won the Grosser Preisvon Deutschland in Hamburg, Germany, and yesterday took his fifth win of the year from14 starts. So far he has earned $235,000 this year for ownerCourant Stable.
Cruzado Dela Noche, driven by Bjorn Goop, was second in thebetting last night. The heavy favorite was his stablemate, Uncle Lasse, drivenby Ôrjan Kihlström., who was 3-10 in the betting. Uncle Lasse was parked outside the leader, Twister Bi thewhole trip and faded down the stretch to finish fourth.
The Danish entry in the InternationalTrot at Yonkers, Tano Bork, returned to action at Jägersro in a RUS-race and wonin a very convincing style with Christina Lindhardt in the saddle.
