Dates released for 2014 USTA Standardbred Driving School

by Jessica Schroeder, USTA Outreach & Membership Enrichment Coordinator

Columbus, OH — Mark your calendars as the dates have been set for the 2014 USTA Standardbred Driving School in Goshen, N.Y. From June 11-15, 2014, students will learn the ins and outs of training and racing Standardbred horses.

The school is a great opportunity to learn more about the harness racing industry — whether you have been to the races before or are just a fan of horses. For those that have been owning horses for years or have never stepped foot inside a barn, the school is great for people of all ages and experience levels. Students must be at least 16 years of age to attend and transportation needs to be provided by the student.

New for 2014: There will be an advanced class for graduates of any previous Driving School. The advanced class will include more hand-on instruction, paddocking opportunities and instruction for completing the required Practical Test.
