Columbus, OH — Tis the season for family time, lights, giving and USTA deadlines! Here are a couple dates to add to your calendar during this busy time of year.

The deadline to register your 2022 foals is Dec. 31. This means foal registration applications and mating certificates must be postmarked by this date or released and submitted online by this date to avoid penalty. Please remember, if requested, registration certificates are not mailed until DNA testing and permanent identification are successfully completed and will not accrue any additional fees if not done by the end of the foaling year.

If your last name starts with the letter A-D or if you have a USTA registered stable, your USTA membership may be expiring on Dec. 31. You can renew your individual membership and licenses online via your USTA Online Services account 24/7. Stable renewals must be done by completing the renewal application you receive in the mail and returning with the appropriate fee.

Did you register your foals of 2021 as UNNAMED? The deadline to name these UNNAMED yearlings is Dec. 31 otherwise the name change fee of $25 is applied. Submit your name changes via email, fax or mail but don’t delay!

One more thing to keep in mind. If you are currently racing a horse with Canadian eligibility, be sure to purchase their U.S lifetime eligibility by Dec. 31. Canadian eligibility expires at the end of every year, and you don’t want to miss the gate. The fee to purchase U.S lifetime eligibility is $35 and can be purchased via your Online Services account.
