The AF Trot yearling sale in Deauville, Normandy, followed the same trend as the Trotting Promotion sale the week before in Paris as the average price was up by 5.7 percent to $22,000.
A total of 196 yearlings were sold of out 292 head going into the ring.
Offspring to first season sire and Prix d’Amerique winner Ready Cash were in high demand as nine were sold for an average price of $65,500. Ready Cash stands for $16,500.
The top price at the sale was $150,000 and was reached by two colts — one by Ready Cash and one by Prodigious.
The latter has his first crop racing this year, and at present Prodigious is the leading sire for 2-year-olds. Prodigious stands for $14,500.
The sale continues today as a mixed sale.
