from the USTA Communications Department
Columbus, OH — As the Dec. 31 deadline to register your 2017 foal approaches, the USTA would like to remind breeders of the online foal registration reporting and live foal/no foal feature.
Foal registrations and live foal/no foal reporting can be completed online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week on your time. The online foal registration feature has been utilized by our members for roughly 3,000 foals already to date, which represents nearly half of the foal crop for 2017 that we intend to register.
To utilize the paperless registration process, log in or sign up for a USTA Online Services account at MyAccount.ustrotting.com and select Broodmare Activity in the “My Horses” section. All mares owned by you or a stable you are associated with will be listed by breeding year. Then click either the “Live Foal” or “No Foal” link to begin. No markings need to be imputed and you can leave the foal unnamed, with paperless registrations until a name is chosen.
Rule 26.02 (f) In order for a foal to be registered the application for registration, the mating certificate and the fee for registration must be submitted to the USTA no later than Dec. 31 of the foaling year. The foal may be registered after the Dec. 31 deadline upon payment of the additional fee for late registration. (Penalty for foals registered after 12/31 will be $440).
You can access the foal registration application to mail in by clicking here.
