Delaware Valley USHWA accepting Caretaker of the Year nominations

Harrington, DE — The Delaware Valley Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association is currently accepting nominations for its second annual Caretaker of the Year award.

The award is designed to recognize a caretaker/groom who works primarily in Delaware, Maryland, or Virginia for a trainer in good standing. He/she must have a current Delaware, Maryland or Virginia groom’s license and cannot currently be training horses.

To nominate a caretaker/groom for this award, trainers need to write a detailed letter (300 words or less) explaining why a caretaker/groom from your stable deserves to be Caretaker of the Year. Please include the groom’s name, address, phone number, along with your name, address, and phone number.

Caretakers/grooms are often the unsung heroes of the sport and this award memorializes their dedication. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 30. All entries detailing why nominees are deserving of the Caretaker of the Year award should be emailed to devalleyushwa@gmail.com.

The winner will receive a $200 award courtesy of the Delaware Valley Chapter of USHWA.
