Lets’Dance America — a Swedish filly sired by Deweycheatumnhowe — fetched the highest price for a filly at the Kolgjini Sale held on Monday night (July 25) in Malmoe, as the hammer fell at SK800,000 — or $126,300.
Lets’Dance America is the second foal out of Dance Of Joy, an unraced Malabar Man mare whose dam is Dream Of Joy 2,1:57 ($826,601), a winner of the Breeders Crown, Goldsmith Maid and Merrie Annabelle.
The top price of SK850,000 or $134,000 at the sale went for Nostradamus Face, a colt sired by Varenne and out of Big Blue Kitten, she by Pine Chip.
Big Blue Kitten is the dam of top trotters like Yarrah Boko, who this year finished fourth in the Elitlopp final, and Zola Boko, winner of the European Championship for 3-year-old trotters in 2009.
A total of 49 out of 74 yearlings were sold for an average of $28,700.
