Don’t Take My Keys, Torrin Hanover take Meadows co-features

Washington, PA — Don’t Take My Keys followed cover willingly, then brushed through the stretch to capture his second straight win in Wednesday’s (May 24) co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 Conditioned Trot.

When Hunter Myers asked him for trot, the 5-year-old Uncle Peter-Designated Driver gelding kicked it into gear to edge Keystone Chaos by a nose in a career-best 1:53.1. Stickler Hanover finished third.

In Wednesday’s companion feature, a $12,100 Conditioned Pace, Torrin Hanover moved first over from third and rolled to his 34th career victory in 1:51.4. Bereaved Hanover was a half-length back in second, giving trainer Paul Corey an exacta sweep, with Dojea Gizmo third. Dan Rawlings piloted the 8-year-old Well Said-Transference gelding, who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $431,596, for owner Kenneth Ashba.

Aaron Merriman, Dave Palone, Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and Rawlings joined trainer Dean Collins with two wins on the 13-race card.
