Oosting sent Emma Town Bud for early position from post four, but yielded the lead to Swan In Motion and Ricky Macomber Jr. through the opening panel in :28.2. Emma Town Bud wanted his turn on the front and ranged up to take command just before the :58.2 half.

After mild first-half fractions, Emma Town Bud began to put his talent on display and was on top by four lengths through the third station in 1:27. Swan In Motion made a costly break turning for home, which left Emma Town Bud in a race against the clock. Emma Town Bud used a :27 closing kick to finish five lengths to the good and stopped the timer in 1:54. Anchors Away and Sam Widger saved ground to get up for second while Dude Included and John DeLong trotted evenly for third. Emma Town Bud returned $3.20 to win.

Emma Town Bud, who races for trainer Byron Hooley and Summit Pacing Acres LLC, now owns a 19-7-5-2 lifetime record. The son of Big Stick Lindy and Centerfold Lady has amassed $202,457 in earnings.
