Enjoy Lavec dies in Finland

Trotting stallion Enjoy Lavec has died in Finland at the age of 24.

Enjoy Lavec, who was foaled in Sweden, was sent to the United States where he was campaigned by Jimmy Takter.

Enjoy Lavec was on top of his game and as a 2-year-old he won four of eight races, including the Peter Haughton Memorial.

As a 3-year-old, he won the Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial and the World Trotting Derby. He was third in the Hambletonian and second in the Kentucky Futurity.

Ënjoy Lavec took a mark of 1:52 and earned $933,956 before he went to stud at Perretti Farms in New Jersey. In four years Enjoy Lavec sired 279 North American foals, the fastest and richest was Enough Talk 1:49.3z ($1,839,553).

In Europe Enjoy Lavec sired Glenn Kronos (winner of the Italian Trotting Derby) and Lavec Kronos  (an international top trotter); both are now at stud.

Enjoy Lavec was sired by Pine Chip and out of Margit Lobell by Speedy Crown.
