Face Time Bourbon posts his 16th Group 1 victory

Face Time Bourbon, with Eric Raffin, won the Grand Prix de Wallonie at Mons, Belgium, easily on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 1).

The sloppy track forced the organizers to leave the starting gate off the track and the trotters had to line up on a row with Face Time Bourbon as the master.

That turned out to work fine.

Face Time Bourbon was slow away but was able to take command after five-eighths of a mile in the 1-7/16-mile contest. Face Time Bourbon won in 1:57.3 (mile rate), followed five lengths behind by Ce Bello Romain with Anthony Barrier.

This was the 16th Group 1 victory by Face Time Bourbon, who picked up the winner’s purse of $63,000.
