Favorites draw well in Wiseman Trot Final at Running Aces

Columbus, MN — The 2022 Steve Wiseman Memorial Trot goes to post on Sunday (June 26) at Running Aces and the elimination winners had the luck of the draw on their side, with Susie’s Sister drawing post one and All American N drawing post two for the $35,000 final, which is carded as race seven on the program.

Susie’s Sister (Anthony Kerwood) tied the older mares track record in her June 19 elimination win, with a front-running score in 1:54.3 with Tony Kerwood in the bike, and the pair has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorites.

All American N (Luke Plano) is the defending champion from last year’s inaugural Wiseman event and he went gate-to-wire in his elimination split in 1:54.4 and will once again have the services of driver Luke Plano. He has been installed at 7-2 on the morning line.

Pridecrest (Mooney Svendsen) was a hard-charging second by three-quarters of a length to Susie’s Sister in that elimination split, trotting his mile in 1:54.4. He won his two prior races in the Aces top Open Handicap events and he is the third choice on the early line at 9-2 from post seven. He is also a sentimental favorite as he is trained by Kathie Plested-Wiseman, and he is the fastest trotter ever at Running Aces, taking that title almost exactly four years ago with a 1:53.4 mile.

The nine horse field is deep with talent from top to bottom, and includes a total of five current track record holders. Collectively the field has won 221 races and $1,934,550 in purses.
