Ft. Washington, MD — Debbie Stafford’s Feelingmightygood has been on fire of late and completed her climb to the $10,000 Mares Open Wednesday night (May 3) at Rosecroft Raceway with a win in 1:52.3 for trainer-driver Jeff Stafford.
Stafford worked out a great journey behind KG Rocks who came first up and cleared to the lead at the three-quarters in 1:23. Stafford kept on coming and wore down the leader and held off Breadcrumb Income (Brian Burton) and Cedar Hall Heiress (Jason Green).
Ricky Still continued his great week with a second straight three-win night. Wayne Long and Russell Foster posted two wins each. Roger Plante took the daily double with DVC Kolor Me Krazy and late developing 4-year old Arts And Flowers. Both mares posted lifetime marks.
Trainer Jerry Nock had a double with Speeditup Hanover (Foster) and Baby Buntin (Jason Thompson). Both horses are owned by Kasey Bendix and Virginia Marvel.
A very good Saturday night card starts after the Kentucky Derby on Saturday (May 6).
