Felicityshagwell S retired from racing

Felicityshagwell S (Maharajah – Diaz Boko – Cantab Hall) has been retired from racing.

After five seasons of competing at the very highest international level, Felicityshagwell S retires with a record of 49 11-9-8; $525,800 and LT 1:51.1 (BT 1:50.2). After three injury-plagued seasons in Sweden she moved to Åke Svanstedt stables in early 2020.

After rating a comfortable early tempo, Felicityshagwell S turned on the jets late to outsprint longtime distaff trotting standout Atlanta for a 10-1 upset in the 2021 Breeders Crown Mare Trot. Lisa Photo.

In her two North American seasons, she took a lifetime mark of 1:51.1 in Lexington in October 2020, but her greatest triumph is without a doubt her convincing win in the 2021 Breeders’ Crown Aged Mare Trot. Showing her characteristic gate speed, she blasted to the front and after a controlled first half, Åke and his adept handling were able to wire a very accomplished field that included Atlanta and When Dovescry.

‘Shaggy’ will now be bred to Walner in 2022 and to Captain Corey in 2023. Felicityshagwell S was bred by Manken AB & Verrazzano AB in Sweden.
