Westfield, IN — Three talented and dedicated youngsters have been selected to represent their Harness Horse Youth Foundation camps in this year’s driving demonstration at The Meadowlands on Hambeltonian Day (Saturday, Aug. 6).
They are Evan Williams of North Bangor, N.Y., Cammie Lange of Canton, Ohio and Bianca Miceli of Beachwood, N.J.
The non-wagering event is a half-mile dash, the standard Trottingbred distance, from behind the mobile starting gate, and is set for post just prior to the 12 p.m. Hambletonian wagering card.
Here is the field for Saturday’s event:
1. Ima’s Hit driven by Evan White, age 12, representing Vernon Downs, hometown North Bangor, N.Y., assisted by Corey Callahan.
2. I Want Another driven by Cammie Lange, age 12, representing Delaware (OH) County Agricultural Society, hometown Canton, Ohio, assisted by Hannah Miller.
3. Royal Attire driven by Bianca Miceli, age 12, representing Gaitway Farm, hometown Beachwood, N.J., assisted by Montrell Teague.
According to HHYF Executive Director Ellen Taylor, the selected participants showed exemplary horsemanship at their camps and are ideal candidates to represent the organization. She is also wishes to thank Callahan, Teague and Miller, as well as Meadowlands management, for their continued support of the organization.
Celebrating 40 years of youth education and service to harness racing, the Harness Horse Youth Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing young people and their families educational opportunities with harness horses, in order to foster the next generation of participants and fans. The Foundation makes a difference in young people’s lives through interactive learning experiences with these versatile animals, scholarship programs, and creation and distribution of educational materials.
