Plainville, MA — Four Sixes put in a big performance in Plainridge Park’s featured $19,000 upper-level conditioned trot on Monday (June 9) as he annihilated a full field of top-flight trotters in 1:53.2 to tie the 9-year-old track record for 4-year-old trotting horses.

Four Sixes (Brett Beckwith) got away third as Remember Titans (Drew Monti) took the field to the quarter in :27.1. But at that market, Beckwith came with a rush and Four Sixes took the lead with authority and for good. Four Sixes got to the half in :56 and three-quarters in 1:24.1, extending his lead as he went. By the time he got to the top of the stretch, Four Sixes was away by six lengths. Then as he made his way down the lane, Four Sixes swelled up and pulled away by 7-1/4 lengths for the win and a new lifetime mark.
Four Sixes ($3.20) is owned by his trainer Melissa Beckwith, in partnership with William Hartt.
Another trey for Cecere
One week ago at Plainridge, trainer Domenico Cecere watched as five members of his stable were perfect on the afternoon, giving him five consecutive wins that included a natural grand slam. This week Cecere brought three more trainees to The Ridge and came away with a natural hat trick in races one through three as all his starters once again came away victorious.
With Bruce Ranger in the bike steering all of them, Cecere’s charges who got all the cash included Riviera Princess (1:57.4, $3.80) and Our Father Lindy (1:57.2 LTM, $3.00) who are owned by K R Breeding, and Moni Multiplier (1:57.2, $4.40) who is owned by Lindy Farms of Connecticut.
On the strength of his performance this Monday, Cecere is now batting 1,000 and remains undefeated at the current Plainridge meet. Cecere has started 12 horses so far this year and all 12 have gotten home first in their respective outings.
There was a huge mutuel payoff in the sixth race after Just Roxy (Matty Athearn) brushed home late to win in a lifetime best 1:54.4 at odds of 50-1. Just Roxy paid $109.00 to win and the 9-4-7 trifecta returned $7,150.85 for a 50-cent wager.
Just Roxy is owned by George Bullukian and trained by Gretchen Athearn.
Live racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (June 10) at 4 p.m. and there will be a $3,177 carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta in the sixth race.
