Marlborough, MA — The much publicized casino gaming proposal on land owned by Robert Kraft at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Mass., was rejected Tuesday night (Dec. 27) by the town’s board of selectmen.
Selectmen voted 3-2 against the Kraft proposal supported by Steve Wynn of Las Vegas fame. The hearing was attended by a large turnout of the town’s 16,000-plus residents who voiced their opinions.
Selectmen stated they wanted no part in any type of casino that was proposed on Kraft owned property near, but apart, from Gillette Stadium.
The board said it will send letters of their decision to the governor, Kraft, and the gaming commission.
