Frankly My Dear equals career best in Meadows feature

Washington, PA – Frankly My Dear found late racing room and blazed past the leader, Night Flyer K, to capture Wednesday’s (Oct.13) feature at The Meadows, a $9,800 Conditioned Trot.

With more than $161,000 in her account, a win in this year’s Arden Downs and a third in the Weiss Series final, it appeared that the 3-year-old daughter of Southwind Frank-Temple Of Athena lay over her rivals; indeed, she was installed as the 4-5 favorite. But she was pinned on the cones until the final turn, when Dave Palone finally was able to show her racetrack. She took off and defeated Night Flyer K by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:55.1, matching her career best. Iron Wheel rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains Frankly My Dear for Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and J&T Silva and Purnel & Libby.

Mike Wilder collected three wins on the 12-race card, including a pair for trainer Mark Goldberg.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 11-race program features a $35,509.78 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
