Freehold Preferred Trot draws seven for Friday

Freehold, NJ — A field of seven signed up for the Freehold Raceway feature on Friday (Dec. 20), a $12,000 Preferred Handicap trot. The race is scheduled as the seventh on the card, with a post time of 2:30 p.m.

The headliner is expected to be Dot Dot Dot Dash, who drew the outside post. She’s won the Preferred six times at Freehold in 2019, most recently on August 30. Last out, she won a non-winners of $14,000 trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia, her second win in her last three races. Expect her to tuck in near the back early on, and make a big closing rally.

Limerence, leaving from post position six, will likely challenge her for wagering supremacy. He finished fifth last out in a non-winners of $20,000 trot at Yonkers Raceway. He’s won six times on the year, including one win at Freehold, earning more than $98,000. Steve Smith will drive his own for trainer Karen Garland.

Leading trainer Nick Surick will send out two horses: Lily’s Swan Pond and Inukchuk Chuck. The latter has been competing primarily in amateur races, with two recent wins in the Billings in his running lines. Most recently, he was fifth in a non-winners of $6,500 trot at the Meadowlands. Andy Miller was named to drive from post position two. Lily’s Swan Pond has been knocking at the door at Yonkers Raceway as of late, with a second and a third in his last two. Joe Bongiorno will drive from the five-hole.

Drazzmatazz, for Tom Angerame, Dynamic Edge, for Mark Ford, and Boots N Chains, for Taylor Gower, complete the septet.

The first race at Freehold on Friday is listed for 12:30 PM EST.
