Erminig d’Oliverie, a 2-year-old filly driven by Franck Nivard, was an easy winner of the Prix Une de Mai, a 1-5/16 mile event with a standing start at Vincennes on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24).
Erminig d’Oliverie, who was in command the whole trip, was timed in 1:58 (mile rate),which is a new world record for the distance. The old record was held by Billy de Montfort and was 1:58.2 (mile rate).
Erminig d’Oliverie raced for the fourth time and this was her third consecutive win. She is sired by Scipion du Goutier and trained by Franck Leblanc. The purse for the winner was 54,000 Euro or $56,500.
Friday night saw the best 2-year-old colts meet in the Prix Emmanuel Magouty. The race was won by Equinoxe, driven by Matthieu Abrivard, who finished strongly on the outside to win the 1-5/16 mile event in 1:59.1 (mile rate). This was win number four from five starts.
Equinoxe is sired by Texas Charm, who is a grandson to Workaholic. He is trained by Jacques Bruneau.
