Dover, DE — Geldings Frog Juice and Lou’s Bad Yankee and fillies Joy Vey and Music Row won the four $10,000 co-feature paces on Sunday, Dec. 18, at Dover Downs.
Heading into the clubhouse turn in the first $10,000 Male pace, Frog Juice followed Izzy Real (Matt Kakaley) racing on the outside until Izzy Real overtook leader Four Starz Louie (George Dennis) as the field turned for home. Then owner, trainer, driver Toby Lynch urged Frog Juice to the front approaching the finish line to win by a neck in 1:54. The Badlands Hanover-Hair She Goes gelding recorded his sixth win of the season and $73,923 in purses. He has now won $365,950 lifetime. Itchy (Vince Copeland) was third.
Louie Paglierani’s Lou’s Bad Yankee gave Jon Roberts his second win closing smartly in a $10,000 Male pace to post a 1:52.3 triumph. The Badlands Hanover- Yankee Vista 4-year-old trained by Wayne Givens scored his ninth win of the year. Hare Force One (Matt Kakaley) was runner-up. Cash Cab (Allan Davis) was the show finisher.
In a $10,000 distaff pace, breeder-owner Fred Hertrich and trainer Charles Tribbett continued on a winning tear when Ross Wolfenden drove Music Row to a 1:57.3 victory. Allisa Page (Corey Callahan) held on for second in front of the closing Vy Hanover (Ben Stafford Jr.). The Westerm Ideal-Armbro Nashville filly Music Row notched her second win of the campaign.
In a $10,000 3,4&5-Year-Old Filly and Mares paces, Jane Dunavant’s 16-1 shot Joy Vey was a 1:57.1 upset winner as Chris Page drove the Scott Gregoire-trained Red River Hanover-Joyeux 3-year-old. Givealadyabeer (Jim King) and CR Dream (Tony Morgan) were second and third respectively.
