DOVER, Del. —- Two horses owned by the same trio, Don Hawk, a well known NASCAR promoter, John Hynansky, a Delaware auto magnate, and trainer Dan Warrington, one of the track’s winningest conditioners, won the twin Thursday, Jan. 15 feature races with two different drivers on a cold night with a wind-chill advisory in effect at Dover Downs.

Generous GB is a winner after four consecutive second-place finishes.

Generous GB, driven by Steve Warrington, turned on the burners en route to a 1:55 victory in the $40,000 Claiming Pace while Herve Filion steered Racsan (NASCAR spelled backwards) John to a sizzling 1:53.2 victory, the fastest clocking of the program, in a $10,500 conditioned pace giving Dan Warrington a trainer double.

After four consecutive second-place finishes Steve Warrington took Generous GB into the early lead and quickly put away all opposition in a 1:55 victory, his first since winning back-to-back races in November. Ronald N (Jim Morand) came on strongly in the stretch to finish second with Painted Arrow (Kevin Sizer) finishing third.

Racsan (NASCAR spelled backwards) John cruised to victory in 1:53.2.

Racsan John, a late blossoming homebred, made his first start of the new year an impressive one as Herve Filion put the four-year-old altered son of Delaware stallion Wynfield Mark into the lead and then cruised to a trouble-free 1:53.2 victory, his second in three starts and sixth lifetime in 11 races. Amandas Future (Billy Mann) finished a well-beaten second. Art Burn (Hal Belote) was third.

Trainer Warrington almost made it a triple in a second $40,000 Claiming Pace but Kevin Sizer steered Rodney Mitchell’s Rhyall Hanover past Warrington-trained Wynfield Owings (Steve Warrington) in the closing steps for a 1:53.3 triumph. Highfield’s Boy N (Jim Morand) was the show horse.

Brooks Stables’ Lone Roan Ranger scored a 1:56.2 victory in a $25,000 Delaware Claiming Pace. Travis Bowman piloted the Abercrombie gelding, beating The Stick Horse (George Dennis) who closed along the passing lane with And One (Eddie Davis Jr.) third.
