Monticello, NY — In recent weeks Yannick Gingras could be found competing at and driving winners over Monticello Raceway’s double oval.

On Tuesday afternoon, February 13, the 27-year-old reinsman, who is currently battling for the top driving honors at the Meadowlands, again traveled to the Mighty M and reeled off five winners on the card, including a track record dead heat victory with Larry Roman’s Lets Roll Joe in the weekly $15,000 Preferred Pace.

Let’s Roll Joe and Special Report (Larry Stalbaum) hit the wire simultaneously in the eighth race on the card and the two pacers established a new track record of 1:55.1 for a dead heat victory.

But that wasn’t the only speedy mile Gingras rode that afternoon. He also won the $12,500 co-featured pace with Robert Heimstra’s All Shuttle in a 1:56 clocking, which was the pacer’s first victory in six seasonal starts.

Fox Valley Assault, a recent (January 23) $15,000 claim by Bill Mullin, was another of Gingras’ victories that day after the Quebec native rallied the pacer in the deep stretch to score a one length triumph in a time of 1:56.3 in a $20,000 claiming event.

Gingras began his afternoon assault with a 1:58.2 victory with Larry Roman’s Brian P, which gave Roman an owner’s double on the program. And Gingras capped the afternoon with a 1:57.2 triumph in the 11th race with Glossy N , who is owned by Edward Hall and James Hall, Jr.

Besides his five winners, Gingras also had three seconds and two thirds in 12 drives. He now has 16 wins, 10 seconds and seven thirds in 52 Monticello Raceway starts.
