Washington, PA — While 2-5 favorite Tequila Talkin was jammed up inside and waiting for the Lightning Lane, Good Feeln To Know swung widest of all in the lane, looped the leaders and pulled off a 15-1 upset in Thursday’s (Aug. 15) $19,200 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Nick Kozar trains Good Feeln To Know, a 5-year-old Trixton-Gentle True Spirit gelding who lifted his lifetime earnings to $117,505, for Jack B. Piatt III and Howard Alexander.
Tequila Talkin made the early lead but yielded it to the quarter-poling Commander Frank. Meanwhile, Good Feeln To Know followed the live first-over cover of Killer Instinct before swinging well outside for Dave Palone. Tequila Talkin eventually found the Lightning Lane but Good Feeln To Know already had soared by to edge the favorite by half-length in 1:53, with Commander Frank third.
Mike Wilder collected four wins on the 13-race card and Wilbur Yoder three — including a pair of victories with horses he trains.
Friday’s card at The Meadows features two stakes for freshman colt and gelding pacers: a $197,709 Pennsylvania Sires Stake and a $100,000 PA Stallion Series event.
