Hannah and driver Andy Miller led from start to finish to win the filly trot by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:56 as the 4-5 favorite. Skyway Tinacious was second and Mizzy Brenda K was third. Caviart Guilia, the even-money second choice, went off stride on the second turn.

The winning time was the second-fastest ever in the Standardbred Stakes for 2-year-old filly trotters. The stakes and track record of 1:55.2 was set by Wild Honey in 2014.

“I train at Gaitway Farms (in New Jersey) and we have a half-mile track; we trained her there and she seemed to maneuver it really well,” winning trainer Julie Miller said. “The results proved it today, she was really great.

“I was really happy watching her. Being at Delaware and winning a race here is really pleasurable. We’re having a great time. We have some friends here from Jersey with their daughters here and you want to make it special for the up-and-coming fans as well.”

For the year, Hannah has won three of nine races and earned $61,779.

Hannah, by Muscle Hill out of Viva Las Lindy, is owned by the Andy Miller Stable, Dumain Haven Farm, and Little E. She was bred by KG Bertmarks Hingstdepa AB.

In the filly pace, Keystone Eureka rallied from mid-pack after 2-5 favorite Dance Club set the early fractions. Keystone Eureka, the 5-2 second choice driven by newly elected Hall of Famer Tim Tetrick, won by three-quarters of a length over Coral Reef Hanover in 1:55. Don’t Speak finished third and Dance Club was fourth.

“They were going out of there hard enough today and the fractions were fair,” said Tetrick, referring to splits of :27, :55.3, and 1:24.4. “They came back to us and we got the job done late.”

The victory was Keystone Eureka’s second of the season in eight starts and pushed her earnings to $59,396. Her other triumph came in the Pennsylvania Stallion Series in Tetrick’s only other drive behind the filly.

“I kind of raced her the same way that day,” Tetrick said. “We got away back and she closed up well.”

Keystone Eureka, by Somebeachsomewhere out of Sir Erika Z Tam, is trained by Ryan Miller and owned by his Miller Racing Stable. She was bred by the Estate of George F. Hempt Trust.
