Freehold, NJ — Fans this week were given the opportunity to vote on the Top 10 horses in the sport in a manner similar to the weekly Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. The fans, like the voters in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown rankings, put Hannelore Hanover in the top spot.
Nine of the top 10 horses in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll were in the fans’ Top 10, with McWicked being the lone difference, at No. 10. Following is a look at the fan poll, with the final column showing each horse’s ranking in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll.
Rankings based on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.

On Saturday evening (June 23) eliminations were contested at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono for the $500,000 Ben Franklin Pace, the $500,000 Earl Beal Memorial, the Max C. Hempt Memorial Pace and the $300,000 James M. Lynch Memorial Pace. Also included on the star-studded card was a leg of the Great Northeast Open Series which was captured by Bettor’s Edge in the sharp 1:48.2; the swiftest North American mile this season.
