Harrah’s Chester to mark opening of casino gaming facility

Chester, PA — The formal opening of Harrah’s Chester Casino will feature a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony with honored guests that include:

  • Elected officials such as Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll, State Sen. Dominic Pillegi (R, Chester), State Sen. Thaddeus Kirkland (D, 159th District), Delaware County Council Vice Chairman Linda Cartisano and Chester Mayor Wendell Butler, Jr.
  • Members of the Chester community
  • and Harrah’s associates, including J. Carlos Tolosa, President, Eastern Division of Harrah’s and Vince Donlevie, Senior Vice President and General Manager

The cremenony will take place at Harrah’s Chester Casino & Racetrack Events Center, Second Floor, 777 Harrah’s Blvd. (Route 291 at Morton Avenue), Chester, PA 19013 on Friday, January 26, 2007. There will be a reception at 12:00 Noon with the ribbon cutting at 1:00 p.m.

Harrah’s Chester Casino’s newest 100,000 square foot casino floor is expected to generate $10 million of annual revenue to the city, constituting 20 percent of Chester’s budget.

As the largest development project in Delaware County, the riverfront casino prepares to open its doors with 2,750 slot machines and video poker machines in 1¢ to $100 high limit denominations, and nine new restaurants and bars.
