Hippodrome 3R postponing start of 2020 season

Trois-Rivieres, QC — The Quebec Jockey Club has announced that the 2020 harness racing season at the Hippodrome 3R, scheduled to start on May 2, has been postponed until further notice.

“The racetrack and all of the Off Track Betting sites in Quebec have been closed,” said Murielle Thomasson, General Manager at the Hippodrome 3R. “Because of the pandemic over the coronavirus-19, we will not hold qualifying races or training at the facility. As soon as we are able to open the facilities again, we will set a new date to start racing. All stakes races will be rescheduled for later in the season.”

Horse people are reminded that all stakes payments, Prix d’Ete and Quebec-bred series, must be maintained in order to be eligible for the stakes. To make nomination payments, owner/trainers can go to www.standardbredcanada.ca or H3R’s new website, www.hippodrome3r.ca, and get the necessary nomination forms.
