Marlborough, MA — Driver-trainer John Hogan took himself off his three scheduled drives on Thursday (Dec. 1) at Plainridge after experiencing chest discomfort.
Plainridge Assistant Paddock Judge Robert Lieberman said Hogan was going to have the condition checked at a local hospital. No word has been received as yet as to whether he will be ready to resume racing this coming week.
The resident of Argle, N.Y. and native of Marlborough, Mass., is closing in on 4,700 career wins. He was recently among those golden award recipients cited at the 50th anniversary awards affair staged by the New England chapter of the U.S. Harness Writers Asociation.
Hogan is also a member of the Plainridge Wall of Fame.
