Monticello, NY — Hogies Cam won his sixth consecutive race at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon, April 8, in a time of 1:56.1.

A recent $5,000 claim by trainer Bob Beauregard’s patron Charles Strukel, the pacer scored his third victory in a row for his new owner, all in the $10,000 claiming ranks.

Jordan “the Kid” Stratton guided the 10-year-old Camluck gelding to a wire-to-wire victory in the first race on the card.

Stratton also won the second race with Tom Dewey and Craig Smith’s Charlies Noble ID in a 1:57 clocking by means of a disqualification.

In that race, 13-time Monticello Raceway driving champion Billy Parker, Jr.’s pacer Bing N was interfered with by B Smart (Mike Merton) in the clubhouse turn the second time around and Parker was unseated. As he was falling to the ground he was bumped and run over by some trailing horses.

Parker sprung to his feet, walked away without help, and did not appear to be badly hurt athough he withdrew from all of his later mounts on the card.

B Smart went on to win the race but was disqualified for interference.
