Hoosier Park to host Belmont Stakes live simulcast and Family Fun Saturday

Anderson, IN — As excitement intensifies surrounding Justify’s run at the final leg of the Triple Crown, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is set to host a special live simulcast of the 150th running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday (June 9). Belmont Stakes Day races will begin at 11:35 a.m., with the Belmont Stakes race set for 6:37 p.m. Live racing at Hoosier Park will start with a special post time of 7:10 p.m.

Known as the “Test of the Champions” due to its 1.5-mile length, the longest of the three Triple Crown races, the Belmont Stakes is the final jewel of the Triple Crown. The $1.5 million Belmont Stakes is preceded by the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, held in May. Advance wagering for the Belmont Stakes will be available at Hoosier Park starting Thursday (June 7).

To celebrate the Belmont Stakes, a special race day seafood buffet will be offered at Prime Harvest Buffet for $26.95 per person, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A full a’ la carte menu will be available in Hoosier Park’s Homestretch Clubhouse starting at 12 p.m. and $3 draft beers and $3 pizza slices will be available at the Dan Patch Brewhouse beginning at 12 p.m.

The Homestretch Steakhouse will offer a Belmont Day dinner menu starting at 4 p.m. Dining options are also available at VooDoo BBQ & Grill, Caballo Loco, Dog N Suds, and The Big Deli.

Starting at 11 a.m., the official 150th Belmont collector glass will be available at Pegasus Lounge, with the purchase of a traditional Belmont Jewel for $9. The souvenir drink will also be available at Prime Harvest Buffet and The Shoe.

The first 1,000 guests who visit trackside Club Centaur starting at 10 a.m. will receive a free $2 win bet on Justify in the Belmont Stakes. And, guests are invited to enjoy Hoosier Park’s Family Fun Zone featuring face painting, live entertainment, cornhole tournaments, games, and fun with Hoosier Buddy, the official Hoosier Park mascot. The Family Fun Zone is a part of Hoosier Park’s Saturday activities throughout the live racing season.

Live racing at Hoosier Park will follow a Tuesday through Saturday schedule and be conducted through Nov. 10. The 2018 season is highlighted by the 25th edition of the $300,000 Dan Patch Stakes on Friday (Aug. 10).
