Idle Hour impressive in Rosecroft qualifier

Ft. Washington, MD — Idle Hour quarter-poled for the lead in a qualifier for 2-year-old pacers at Rosecroft Raceway on Wednesday morning, September 19, winning by over five lengths in 1:56.3.

The freshman son of Dragon Again, driven by Ray Burton, Jr., paced through fractions of :30.4, :59.3 and 1:28 to notch an impressive victory. George Teague, Jr. trains the colt for himself and co-owners Shanika and Shamika Wesley, all of Delaware.

First National trotted to an 8-3/4 length win in his division. Reined by trainer Andrew Stafford, the 2-year-old CR Commando colt led a field through quarters of :32.1, 1:02.2 and 1:34, winning in 2:04.2. First National is owned by Andrew and Art Stafford, both of Delaware.

In another pacing division, The Iceman Came was top notch, going gate-to-wire in :30.1, 1:00 and 1:28.3, winning in 1:57.4. Ray Burton, Jr. drove the 2-year-old Real Artist colt to a two length victory. George Teague, Jr. trains for himself and co-owner Elmer Fannin of Delaware.
