I’m Happy Hanover unchallenged in Meadows victory

Washington, PA — I’m Happy Hanover strolled to a comfortable 58.2 opening half, leaving her strong enough to discourage serious challengers en route to victory in Wednesday’s (Aug. 31) feature at The Meadows, a $13,300 Conditioned Trot.

With no rival threatening outside, the 3-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill-I’m On Cloud Nine cruised home in a career-best 1:55 for Dave Palone. Golden Compass was second, beaten three-quarter lengths, while Saint K shot the Lightning Lane for show.

Ron Burke trains I’m Happy Hanover, who vaulted over $100,000 in lifetime earnings, for Eric Good.

Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 11-race card while the combinations of Aaron Merriman and trainer Sarah Andrews and Mike Wilder and trainer Dan Altmeyer each clicked for a pair of victories.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday, first post 12:45 p.m.
