Indiana Standardbred Select Sale to feature 145 yearlings

by James Platz

Middlebury, IN — The Indiana Standardbred Sales Company has cataloged 145 yearlings for its fourth annual select yearling sale, slated for Saturday, October 2 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds South Pavilion.

More than 40 sires will be represented, including yearlings by Electric Yankee, Dream Work, His Alibi, Keep It A Secret, Jate Lobell and Rustler Hanover.

Entries from the first crops of Lease On Life and Whitefish Falls are also consigned.

Sale catalogs will be available by August 9, but prospective buyers can already view pedigrees on Indiana Standardbred Sale Company’s web site, www.indianastandardbred.com. Users can view sale entries by sire or by hip number in Adobe PDF format.

Catalogs can be obtained by filling out the online request form located at www.indianastandardbred.com/about/sale_catalog_request.asp. Catalogs will also be available at Indiana Downs.

Results from Indiana Standardbred’s first three select yearling sales are also available on the site.

Indiana Standardbred Sales Company has quickly established itself as the marketplace for the state’s champions.

Premerionbroadway, an inaugural sale graduate, became the fastest Indiana-sired horse with a 1:49 victory at the Meadowlands in July. The four-year-old son of Personal Power is one of three Indiana Sires Stake champions sold by the company, and two additional champions were consigned to the sale but never passed through the ring.

Secret’s Dreamboy, from the latest group of graduates, set an Indiana Downs track record on August 1 with a 1:533 clocking.
