Jive Dancing A scores in Rosecroft feature

Ft. Washington, MD — When good horses get an excellent trip, they are very hard to beat. Wednesday night (March 17) at Rosecroft, Jonathan Roberts did exactly that with Jive Dancing A as she bested a stubborn pacesetter Lincoln’s Girl N to win the $11,000 Mares Open Handicap in 1:53.3.

It was the third win in four starts in the Open Handicap for the 7-year-old daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven, who is owned and trained by Michael Hall.

Russell Foster and Lincoln’s Girl N left hard from post nine and hit the opening quarter in :26.4 and it was perhaps that early fraction that cost her what would have been a gutty win. Foster throttled down through fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.2 while Roberts was just sitting in the pocket biding his time and literally needed the length of the stretch to get by a reluctant second place finisher.

Roberts won three races overall on the card, including a sweep of the features as Judge Bob repeated in the Open Trot.

John Wagner and Jared Moyer steered three winners while Wagner conditioned three winners on the night. Trainer Ken Schlotzhauer continues to heat up with two more wins, as he trails Megan Roberts by two and Wagner by one in the trainer standings.
