JK American Beauty, Baby Your The Best impress at Philly Wednesday

Chester, PA — A pair of pacing distaffs with impeccable pedigrees were the stars of the show on Wednesday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia, as the southeast Pennsylvania track began its first full week of racing.

The American Ideal – JK Black Beauty four-year-old JK American Beauty (Yannick Gingras) came out of the pocket and chased down pacesetting Tango Dancer N (Dexter Dunn), who had upset the “Beauty” in her 2020 debut at The Meadowlands, drawing clear while taking a new mark of 1:50.1. I’m Very Special (Tim Tetrick) closed well for second, 1-1/2 lengths back and a length ahead of Tango Dancer N. JK American Beauty is trained by Nancy Takter and owned by the 3 Brothers Stables.

The Captaintreacherous – Dolphins Can Talk sophomore Baby Your The Best (David Miller) got her 2020 season off to a dandy start in the first race of the day, making the lead past the quarter and lowered her record by two-fifths while stopping the timer in 1:51.1. The winner of over a quarter-million dollars at two looked like she was ready to start adding significantly to that total, for trainer Linda Toscano and owners Richard and Joanne Young.

2019 Philly dash winning driving champion Tim Tetrick displayed midseason form on the second day of the meet, piloting six winners home first, despite four of them having to come on via the uncovered route. He also produced the biggest “bomb” of the young season when he took the maiden Lady Phoenix to a 1:55.1 triumph while paying $64.60 to win.
