Just Zip It charges through seam, wins Meadows co-feature

Washington, PA — Shuffled to fifth into the final turn, Just Zip It found a late seam, charged through and captured Tuesday’s (Oct. 26) co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 fillies and mares conditioned pace.

Just Zip It (#6) emerged out of traffic to silence her foes in Tuesday’s top distaff pace at The Meadows. Chris Gooden photo.

It seemed that Just Zip It was destined for no more than a minor award. But in mid-stretch, Brady Brown steered her off the cones to a late-developing path. The 6-year-old daughter of Chayenne Rei and Roca Suave zipped through willingly and scored in 1:54 in the slop, a head better than the pacesetting Hillbilly Kisses. Spanish Dream completed the ticket.

Sarah Andrews trains Just Zip It, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $163,178, for Casey Myers.

In Tuesday’s companion feature, a $10,300 distaff trot, Luvcrunchess opened a daylight lead late and collected an in-hand 1:57.2 win for Aaron Merriman, trainer Steven Walters and owner PT Stable.

Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone each collected three wins on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Oct. 27), when the 12-race program features a $1,374.45 carryover in the Pick-5 (races 7-11). First post is 12:45 p.m.
