Columbus, OH — Kevin McDermott earned his 1,500th career training victory this past Saturday night (Aug. 27) at Yonkers Raceway.
McDermott reached the milestone after Badix Hanover (Tyler Buter) won the $18,000 first-race pace in 1:52.3.
The 48-year-old McDermott has been one of the top trainers on the East Coast for the past decade. His pupils have banked more than $800,000 in each of the past nine campaigns, led by a high-water mark of $2,279,100 in 2010. He trained a career best 118 winners in 2009.
