Kirby wins five Monday at Harrington

Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway’s leading driver, Victor Kirby, won five races on the Monday (Oct. 8) program.

Daiymir won the $11,000 overnight feature with a 1:52.3 win in the Open II.

Kirby, who currently leads the meet’s driver standings over Mike Cole and Art Stafford Jr., got to work quickly with back-to-back wins in the second and third races with Sprocket ($3.80) and People Are Crazy ($11.40).

Kirby later piloted Southwind Jensen ($4) and Cool Reward ($5.60) for the grand slam. Kirby notched a fifth in the 11th with Solitaire Hanover ($4.60).

George Teague Jr.’s Daiymir ($3, Montrell Teague) won the $11,000 overnight feature with a 1:52.3 win in the Open II for trainer Clyde Francis.

Joe Columbo currently has the lead in the trainer standings over Joe Hundertpfund Jr. and Wayne Givens.

Live racing continues on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until Oct. 24.
